Canvas Cloth board game. Comes with your choice of a decorative wooden box, or a travel friendly velvet drawstring bag.

Puluc (also called Bul or Buluc) is a 2 player board game, first played in Guatemala by the Mayan ancestors of the indigenous Qʼeqchiʼ (Kekchi) people.

This Puluc set includes a canvas game board, with glyph style game pieces, wooden casting sticks (also known as throwing sticks), and instructions. It comes with your choice of a hand decorated wooden box or a travel friendly velvet bag to keep everything in. The artwork on the box and game board are my own designs that were inspired by Mayan motifs.

The board measures approximately 12 inches long (not including the fringe). The decorative fringe is reinforced with stitching around the edge of the board to improve durability, so you won’t have to worry about it unraveling.

The pieces are made of gypsum and painted by hand. They are cast copies of two of my own original carvings. The game piece designs are of Mayan glyphs: balam – jaguar, and mo – scarlet macaw. The bottom of each piece is lined with felt, which not only gives them a high end feel, but also protects the other pieces from scratches. You can see a video of how they’re made here.

* WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts.
Not intended for children under 3 yrs.

* Please be aware that due to the nature of the materials, and that each piece is made individually by hand, there may be some slight variation in color/grain/texture.
