Fox and Geese is a traditional game that dates back to the Middle Ages in Northern Europe, especially Scandinavia and the British Isles.
This game set is a wooden box with the game board engraved on the top of the box. There is space inside to hold all the pieces and the instructions.
The fox knotwork images on the box are my own original artwork. The inside of the box is lined with velvet.
Each game piece is made by hand – castings of an original design that I carved by hand. The pieces are 1 inch in diameter and are made of gypsum cement, a material that has been in use for thousands of years. They have a similar strength to concrete, a smooth stone-like feel, and a satisfying “clack” sound when they tap against each other. They are painted with a pearl-like finish, and have felt bottoms to protect the game board and give them a classy look and feel.
What’s included: Game board/box, 14 playing pieces (13 geese, 1 fox), and printed card with the history and instructions for the game.
Dimensions: The board measures 8 inches and is approximately 1.5 inches thick.
* WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts.
Not intended for children under 3 yrs.
* Please be aware that due to the nature of the materials, and that each piece is made individually by hand, there may be some slight variation in color/grain/texture.
