9 Men’s Morris is an ancient board game dating back to at least the Roman empire. It was especially popular during medieval times.
This game board is engraved on the top of a wooden box. The border on the game board is from one of my own original drawings – drawn by hand with pen and ink, then digitized, then laser engraved onto the board. There is space inside to hold all the pieces and the instructions. The inside of the box is lined with velvet.
The handmade game pieces are cast from gypsum cement and hand painted. The light pieces are made to look like aged ivory, and the dark pieces are a glossy black. The bottom of each piece is lined with felt, which gives them a high end feel, and also protects the board and your furniture from scratches.
What’s included: Game board/box, 18 playing pieces (9 for each player), and instructions with historical background info for the game.
Dimensions: The board measures 8 inches, and is approximately 1.5 inches thick.
