Daldøsa is a 2 player fight and capture game from Scandinavia. Each player tries to take control of the ship by capturing their opponent. This game is the Norwegian version of another Scandinavian game: Daldøs. The difference between the two variations is the number of pieces and spaces on the board.
Thewooden game box is 6″x 12″. Engravings of triple horn symbols mark the spaces on the board. The inside of the box is lined with velvet and includes a velvet bag to keep the pieces secure. An instruction booklet with historic background information is also included.
The game pieces were cast from gypsum cement, a material that has been in use for thousands of years. They have a similar strength to concrete, a smooth stone-like feel, and a satisfying “clack” sound when they tap against each other. The bottoms of the pieces are lined with felt to protect the game board and allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the board. The hardwood dice are traditional 4 sided long dice.
What’s included: Wooden Game board/box, 24 playing pieces (12 for each player), handmade wooden 4-sided dice, and printed booklet with the history and instructions.
* WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts.
Not intended for children under 3 yrs.
* Please be aware that due to the nature of the materials, and that each piece is made individually by hand, there may be some slight variation in color/grain/texture.
